The Case of the MIssing Kitchen Witch
Every so often, we make a mistake. This mistake seemed to be magically managed. We received an order for a kitchen witch (Althea in burgundy I think.) we shipped the witch, charged the customer accordingly and filed the order away as
complete. Several days later, the customer called us asking when she could
expect to get her witch, seeing that she had been charged for it.We informed her that the kitchen witch had
been shipped several days before and she should have received it by now. She
So we researched the order, found out that we had indeed charged her and shipped Althea, but when we checked the tracking we discovered that the which had been shipped to a completely different address then it had been charged to.
Strange. Not an easy mistake to make. So we called the woman who we mistakenly
shipped the witch too. Yes. She had received the witch. Please – could she keep
the witch? She would be glad to pay for it...
It seems that her mother had died a week or so prior, and she had been searching through her mother's things for a kitchen which that her mom had had for many many years. She looked everywhere – to no avail. And then a couple of days ago she found our package at her front door. It was a kitchen witch!
She felt that her mother had sent it to her. Who was I to argue? I have to say her story brought me to tears. What an amazing turn of events, what a strange "coincidence"!
I did call the original customer and shared the story of the missing kitchen which with her. She was happy to wait a couple more days to get her own Althea witch!
So, yes. I believe in magic.
